About Heart To Hand Osteopathy

At Heart To Hand Osteopathy we believe that each person has an innate healing intelligence inside them. As Osteopaths it is our job to create a safe, supportive space through which this healing wisdom can resolve any physical pain, dysfunction, or trauma, no matter how long it has been there.

In our clinic, we work from the heart, treating each person as a unique individual, and help guide the person to find their optimal health. Osteopathy believes health is always within us, it’s just that sometimes we need some help to rediscover it.

Dr Dan Carroll

Osteopath

Dan is a registered Osteopath, having completed an accredited 5 year degree at Southern Cross University, and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).

Previously, Dan was a Remedial Massage therapist practising in the Sydney and Northern Rivers areas, and combines his 25 years of experience to give a treatment that is tailored specifically to you. He takes a whole person approach, looking at your physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual needs, and delivers a treatment that creates a deep and long lasting improvement in your health and wellbeing.

Dan uses a range of manual therapy techniques, from the very gentle to firmer treatment methods, with the goal of creating a safe, supportive space for your body to heal itself. This is one of the core principles of Osteopathy, and treating in this way respects the wisdom of the body and the healing power within.

In his spare time you’ll find Dan outdoors, either down the beach, surfing, biking, or hiking one of the region’s beautiful nature trails.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic system of manual therapy that aims to reduce pain and restore healthy function to the body. Osteopaths are highly trained in examination and diagnostic methods, which are necessary to find the source of a person’s pain or dysfunction. The Osteopath can then draw from an array of manual therapy techniques to give the exact treatment needed for improved health and well-being.

Osteopathy is based in science, but the art of Osteopathy is in being able to listen to the information the body is conveying, to create a safe, supportive space for healing, and in skillfully guiding the individual back to health.

Osteopathy is beneficial for a range of conditions, including:

Back & neck pain
Headaches & migraines
Jaw pain
Pregnancy and postpartum pain
Muscle strains & ligament sprains
Joint pain - eg. shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, foot
Sport & work injuries

Remedial Massage is beneficial for a range of conditions, including:

Stress
Poor posture
Aching or painful muscles
Back & neck pain and stiffness
Joint pain and stiffness eg shoulder or knee pain

What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial Massage is a manual therapy modality that aims to relax, soften, and stretch tense and tight muscles, thereby reducing muscular pain and tension, and improving the movement and function of the body.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a rebate for Osteopathy through my health fund?

Yes. Osteopathy is covered by almost all health funds, however it depends on your level of cover as to whether you will receive a rebate for your Osteopathic treatment. I’d suggest calling your fund or reviewing your policy to find out.

Can I get a Medicare rebate for Osteopathy?

Yes. You can ask your GP for a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Health Care Plan for any condition that you’ve had for a while. This plan allows you up to 5 visits to see an Osteopath in a calendar year. Medicare will rebate you $56.10 for each visit.
